BayFirst Establishes Minimum Wage of $18/Hour

May 7, 2021

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (May 4, 2021) – BayFirst today announced it has established a minimum wage of $18 per hour.  BayFirst, a leader in corporate social responsibility among community banks, is establishing the $18 minimum wage to ensure responsible growth of the institution while best serving the needs of its customers and diverse workforce.

“BayFirst is committed to providing a fair wage to our entire team,” said BayFirst CEO Anthony N. Leo. “An $18 per hour minimum wage ensures that every employee, regardless of position, is paid a living wage. We feel that is the responsibility of corporations to help build a better society for all. At BayFirst, we are proud to do our small part.”

The new minimum wage applies to all employees across the organization, except fully commissioned exempt personnel or have production incentive plans, whose earnings are typically above the minimum wage.

The minimum wage raise is the latest in a series of initiatives by BayFirst intended to enhance the greater Tampa Bay community. A long-time supporter of financial literacy programs, in recent months it has established a Minority Owned Business Lending Program and donated $100,000 to support the operations of Arts Conservatory for Teens, a St. Petersburg afterschool arts education program.
